Spenborough & District AC

At Spenborough we are associated with the Fell Runners Association (FRA), though we only have a small number of fell runners. We would certainly welcome new runners to join our team!
We put out teams in the Calderdale Way Relay (in May), and entries into the Bunny Runs (in April), which is a series of 3 mile races over Penistone Country Park at Haworth. Other local fell races attended by our team include

• The Cop Hill at Meltham, which is part of the YVAA Championships
• The Denis Stitt Memorial at Holmfirth
• The Yorkshire 3 Peaks (in April)
• Trunce, near Oxspring
• Auld Lang Syne (December)
• Stanbury Splash

There are Junior competitions for the fells, starting with Under 9 through to Under 23, which take place throughout the year. These usually include gala days and are a good family day out and most are achievable for the average runner. And they are much cheaper than road race entries!
