The week following the Dewbury 10K, The Liversedge Half Marathon returned for 2022 and so did the weather from the Dewsbury 10K. On yet another cold, wet and windy day, 9 Spenborough runners conquered the course around Roberttown, Hartshead and Clifton.
Following a victory in the Dewsbury 10K, Joe Sagar claimed yet another victory all while running a course Personal Best and also defeating the Course Record! Edward Revell was the second Spenborough Athlete across the line and second in the Male 45 category. Ian Ogden was third round for Spen in his best time since 2015.
Angela Hall was the first Spenborough female back and finished the 2nd F40 in a course Personal Best. Ian Wilson was the fifth Spen athlete back in his first Half Marathon since 2018. They say every second counts when running and Sean Harrison proved this by knocking 3 seconds off his personal best time. Kirsty Moon was the second Spenborough Female back and finished 6th in the F45 category in her best time since 2014. Chris Ellis was the next Spen runner back in his second running of the Liversedge Half and finishing 4 places higher in his age category. Lynda Robertson was the third Spenborough female back with a dedicated run on her third year running the race.
A reminder we have the return of the Spen 20 on the 13th March 2022, the clubs 20 mile race looping around the Spen Valley, further details and a link to the entry form can be found at the following link: The Return of The Spen 20
